Behind the scenes
official Trailer
Hind Rajab was a 6-year-old Palestinian girl from Gaza whose heartbreaking story captured global attention in early 2024.
On January 29, 2024, Hind was traveling with her family in a car when they came under Israeli tank fire in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City. Everyone in the vehicle was killed except Hind, who survived the initial attack and hid in the car with the bodies of her relatives.
Terrified and alone, Hind managed to call the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS). For over three hours, she remained on the phone with a PRCS worker, Rana al-Faqih, pleading for help. Two paramedics were eventually dispatched to rescue her — but tragically, they too were killed.
Hind’s body was found six days later, along with the bodies of the two medics. Her voice and courage during that final call became a symbol of the suffering of Palestinian children in war and highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Her story is the inspiration for the short film Hind Under Siege.
